Introduction
Welcome to Rionux.
Your privacy is important to us.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using Rionux.
At the current stage of the project, Rionux is an educational website providing investing calculators, simulations, and educational content. We intentionally collect as little personal information as possible.
As Rionux evolves, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect new features and services.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
At the current MVP stage, Rionux does not require user accounts.
You may voluntarily provide information if you choose to contact us by email.
This information may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Contents of your message
We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.
Newsletter & Email Subscriptions
If you choose to subscribe to our email updates, we collect the email address you provide. We use it only to send the updates you opted into—such as new calculators or guides—and we ask you to confirm your subscription first (double opt-in).
We use Brevo, a third-party email service, to store our subscriber list and send these emails; your email address is processed and stored on Brevo's systems on our behalf. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, which you give when you confirm your subscription.
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, after which we remove you from the list. We do not sell or rent your email address, and we do not use it for anything other than these updates.
Calculator Inputs
Calculator values that you enter remain within your browser during your session.
At the current MVP stage, Rionux does not store, transmit, or permanently retain calculator inputs.
Examples include:
- Initial investment
- Monthly contribution
- Investment duration
- Expected return
- Inflation assumptions
These values are processed locally to produce educational results.
Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically generate standard server logs.
These logs may include:
- IP address
- Browser type
- Device type
- Operating system
- Requested pages
- Date and time of requests
- Referring website
These logs are used for security, troubleshooting, and maintaining website availability.
Rionux does not currently use these logs to identify individual users.
Cookies
Rionux uses analytics cookies and similar technologies for website measurement through Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity. These help us understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it. See the Analytics section below for details.
Rionux does not use cookies for advertising, behavioral profiling, or marketing.
If additional cookies are introduced in future versions—for example through advertising or personalization—this Privacy Policy will be updated and, where required by applicable law, users will be provided with appropriate notice and consent options.
Analytics
Rionux uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google.
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the website so we can improve it.
The information collected through Google Analytics may include:
- Pages visited
- Time spent on pages
- Browser
- Operating system
- Device type
- Approximate geographic location
- Referral source
- Interactions with calculators and content
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information.
We use the collected information only to improve the website and the user experience.
Rionux does not use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors.
You can learn more about how Google handles data, and how to opt out, through the following resources:
Microsoft Clarity
Rionux also uses Microsoft Clarity, a behavioral analytics service provided by Microsoft.
Clarity helps us see how pages are actually used—for example which parts of a calculator people struggle with—so we can make the tools clearer.
Unlike Google Analytics, Clarity records a session replay: a reconstruction of your visit that can include the pages you viewed, your mouse movements, scrolling, clicks, and taps. It also produces heatmaps and flags frustration signals such as rapid repeated clicking.
The information collected through Clarity may include:
- Pages visited and the order you viewed them in
- Mouse movement, scrolling, clicks, and taps
- Browser, operating system, device type, and screen size
- Approximate geographic location
- Referral source
What is not recorded: Clarity is configured to mask text and input content, so the numbers you type into a calculator are not captured in recordings. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are never sent to Rionux as part of a calculation. We do not use Clarity to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine Clarity data with any account information—Rionux has no user accounts.
Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to recognise a returning session.
You can learn more about how Microsoft handles this data, and how to opt out, through the following resources:
- Microsoft Privacy Statement
- Microsoft Clarity overview
- Most browsers also let you block third-party scripts or cookies, and browser "do not track" and tracking-protection features may prevent Clarity from loading.
Advertising
Rionux does not currently display advertising.
If advertising platforms such as Google AdSense are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain:
- Advertising technologies
- Personalized advertising
- Cookie usage
- User choices
Affiliate Links
Rionux does not currently participate in affiliate marketing programs.
If affiliate links are added in the future, they will be clearly disclosed, and this Privacy Policy will be updated where appropriate.
Third-Party Services
At the current stage, Rionux minimizes the use of third-party services. The measurement providers currently in use are:
- Google (Google Analytics 4) — website measurement
- Microsoft (Microsoft Clarity) — heatmaps and session replay
Both are described in the Analytics section above, together with links to their privacy statements.
If future features rely on additional external providers (such as authentication, market data, AI services, payment processors, or cloud storage), this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information under our control.
However, no method of transmitting data over the Internet or storing electronic information is completely secure.
Accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Users
Rionux may be accessed from countries around the world.
Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of the website complies with applicable local laws.
Children's Privacy
Rionux is intended for a general audience and is not directed toward children under the age required by applicable privacy laws.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access
- Correction
- Deletion
- Restriction of processing
- Objection to processing
- Data portability
If you wish to exercise applicable privacy rights, please contact us using the information below.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When material changes are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
Continued use of Rionux after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
